.... to our new Lost Pets forum.
Did you know that over 300,000 pets (mostly dogs and cats) go missing in the UK every year?
Sadly around half are never recovered.
So whilst there are a few lost pets websites already, we really believe that one more resource won't hurt. Also - this one is absolutely free , and therefore stands a very good chance of being browsed frequently, by both guests and members.
If you go to www.emarketer.com/Reports/All/Emarketer_2000616.aspx you will see how internet use is growing in the UK.
It is estimated that by 2013, nearly 44 million will be online—over 70% of the total population - which makes this a potentially very powerful resource indeed.
Safety.
For your personal safety please do not give out your telephone number or address to unknowns. Remember that anyone can claim to have found or seen your pet. It is much safer to allow the forum to mediate on your behalf. To repeat - this is absolutely free. We will ask anyone finding a pet to contact us by PM. We will then contact you by PM (you must register to receive this service), so be sure to check back often.
To use the forum (you must register as a member to see the Lost and Found sections).
Go to the appropriate animal heading (horse/dog/cat).
If you have lost an animal go to lost.
Post as much detail as you like (but not your name, address or telephone number).
Post a picture (only one per animal please).
To post pics.
Use the picture icon above and a web hosting site. We recommend Flickr
www.flickr.com (click to visit). It's free and really effective.
If you have found an animal PM Admin immediately. We'll acknowledge your PM and contact the owner if they are registed here. If they aren't remember they may still visit so be sure to post your find.
Go to the appropriate animal heading.
Go to found and post details.
Visit lost to see if the animal has been reported.
The forum is currently under construction - please visit again soon!
Best wishes,
David and Jenny.
